HIGH PLACES

This collection is grounded in the recurring presence of mountains in Scripture as places where one draws near to God. The mountain is not approached as a landscape to be observed, but as a constant form through which different spiritual conditions are explored.

Each painting maintains this structure while shifting in its chromatic order. Color is not used for variation. It carries meaning and determines how the work is built.

In one work, the field is established through pink, holding God’s love and peace, while the mountain carries green, holding hope. In another, the sky moves into yellow and green, introducing maturity as reflected in the teachings of Christ, while the mountain holds red and pink, bringing together sacrifice, love, and peace within the same form.

The works are not independent images, but part of a continuous structure. The mountain remains constant, while the conditions within and around it change.

This collection does not describe different places, but different states of nearness to God.
